M a foodie in all ways...Love More of Non-vegetarian..but i do like cooking vegan n jus luv eating any type of vada!!
Tried this recipe over the weekend.. Reciepe Resource : Mallika Badrinath's "Samayal Samayal"
For long i wanted to try this out..but every time i end up making my favaourite "channa dal Vada (in Tamil paruppu vadai)" or My hubby's favourite the "Urad Dhal Vada (in Tamil Ulundu vadai)"
But Finally decided to test My taste Buds as well my hubby's n my Toddler'z as well..
here u go .....
Ingredients
Channa Dal - 1/2 cup
Toor Dal - 1/2 cup
Yellow Moong Dal split - 1/2 cup
Urad Dal - 1/4 cup ( original recipe indicated 1/2 cup..but when added half a cup or in other words as equal to the quantity of other dhal the vada gets lil harder..)
Green chilli - 4
Garlic- 2 cloves
Curry leaves
Corainder leaves
Method
1.Soak all the Dal after thorough washing for abt 3-4 hours.
2.Add Green chilli and the garlic to the soaked Dal and grind with minimum water.
3.Add finely cut curry leaves n Coriander leaves n required salt ( salt can be added while grindng also) and mix well.
4.Make lemon sized balls of it ,pat a lil on u'r palm and fry in hot oil..
5.Serve hot
Note:
Goes well as a snack when served with Coconut chutney or Sambar
Adds as a Side dish when u donn wanna cook two vegetable side dishes..n wanna make a weekday lunch special !!!!!
